Even when I don't see it, You're working

Even when I can't feel it, You're working

You never stop, You never stop working

Waymaker, miracle worker

Promise Keeper, Light in the darkness

My God, that is who You are

(Michael W. Smith, "Waymaker")

In this life, for all the time you spend working to satisfy your Earthly pleasures, God works more. He works for you and can work with you if you spend the time to build a relationship with Him. This relationship and this time will always be your most important asset. It's not the length of this time that matters, but the quality of this time. Shut all else out and focus on Him during good and hard times. (Notice how I didn't say "bad times" because when you work with God, you can make it out of those hard times for the better.) This is meditation, and it is precious. But it takes time and silence.

We value our time so highly, but we won't give it up to who we seemingly value most. And we fear silence so much that most people can't be silent. They turn on the TV, the radio, their computer, and otherwise. But in this time, try to focus entirely on God. Listen to what he says and ask Him to quiet your spirit so that you may hear Him through the noise. The Holy Spirit will interpret God's message to you in the context of your personal relationship with God, which is why it is so important to develop this relationship.

Being able to give up your time won't happen overnight. My wife says that I'm a very giving person but that I'm selfish with my time, and twenty-two years later, I still struggle with this. Yet, that is something I can learn to work through as I spend more time with God. He makes time for you, and he will meet you anytime. So why won't you make time for Him? Because for as much as you fear losing time, you will always be empty without Him no matter the abundance of money, power, and addiction. Without Him, all of that will do nothing more than dominate and destroy your life. I'm living proof of how the world will chew you up and spit you out — if you don't go all-in with God.

So don't let this fleshy world "Got you" because God's got you, and in turn, you got this.

Truly, my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from Him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. (Psalms 62:1-2 New International Version)
