REST & RELATE

[PRESS PLAY TO LISTEN]

Hey, RTG family, thanks for coming. This is going to be quick and to the point. Well, two points. Rest and relate to God by taking time to pray, listen, and rest with Him. And let him rest with and comfort you as you cultivate your relationship with Him.

He makes rest an obvious point from the beginning. Of course, he “put in work” first, as noted in Genesis 1:1. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Not too far down the scripture road, we have Genesis 2:1-3: “Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.”

Now, I don’t think God needed any rest. After all, He is our all-powerful and everlasting God of grace, full of love and compassion. So, if the creator of it all takes time off to rest, I’m sure He would want the same for us. After all, He “sanctified” the seventh day, set it apart, and declared it holy for His special use and purpose.

So keep it simple and rest, and take time to relate and build your relationship with God. This day of rest is sacred and purposeful for continuing your tailor-made journey with Him. Remember, it’s a marathon, and rest is required to have fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith—2 Timothy 4:7. Here’s to a victorious race where we all spread the good news while cherishing a joy-filled relationship with the king of kings.

Until next time,

Much love and be blessable,

Larry
