Coincidence - a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection.
Concurrence - the fact of two or more events or circumstances happening or existing simultaneously.
Circumstance - an event or fact that causes or helps to cause something to happen, typically something undesirable.
It's 3 AM Sunday, February 27th, 2022. After a couple of long workdays on Friday and Saturday, I've just woken up. I lamped out at 7 PM (thinking it would only be for an hour or two), woke up at 2 AM, and all I can say is thank you, Jesus. And while I am grateful that I woke up, I am most thankful for the peace God gave me to joyfully lay down, rest, and fall asleep. This was not the case three and a half years ago. I used to pass out from my addiction to alcohol rather than falling asleep and resting. This change is no coincidence. This point in time has me sober, joyful, and excited to be wide awake and working on a presentation that I'll share with my class at church on Tuesday. It will be a lesson on living in courage, not in fear. But let me get back to the point.
There is no coincidence; the point is that all things work together for good, and God is good... all the time. Now, not all events are pleasant. Many are often tricky and sometimes painful and unwanted, and so on, and so on. I know there are many "and's" in there. But there is not one single coincidence. There is also an opportunity, an opportunity to get closer to God and deepen our relationship with Him. A chance to lean into Him, have faith in Him and surrender wholeheartedly to Him. But this is your choice and your choice alone.
The events that led me to this moment in my life have been filled with many ups and downs. They've all made me who I am today, and all I can say is thank you, Jesus.
In Acts 1:7, Jesus replied, "It is not for you to know the times or seasons, which the Father hath put in His power."
Fast forward—it's Thursday, March 24th, 2022. Just awoke again at 2:00 AM. Time to finish this article.
By now, I have prepared and presented my message on "Living in Courage, Not in Fear." It seemed to go well; after all, I received a "sitting ovation," haha! Lots of nerves, some worry, fear, and anxiety, and then pure joy upon completion. I did my job as I served at the pleasure of the Lord with courage. A massive shout out to all the brothers and sisters in class for your support. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This morning, I read my verse of the day, Matthew 6:3. Jesus said, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
This whole chain of events leading to now has been no coincidence. It has all been a beautifully executed experience from the Lord for me to share and encourage others with. So I would like to encourage you all to enjoy this day and this moment; bless someone with whatever God puts on your heart to use as an ambassador for Him. Have fun with it knowing you made a difference and brightened someone's day, as you are a shining light that helps the world move forward in a positive way.
Thank you, and may God bless you to bless others today, tomorrow, and forever.
