[PRESS PLAY TO LISTEN]

Funny how it works, Refindthegood family. From no clues to too many clues to too many thoughts and too many ideas. This was my Tuesday morning on the first day of October 2024. First, let me lay the groundwork of the morning as it unfolded. I awoke refreshed and rested. I thanked the Lord for this morning and got my prayer on. So far so good. Then, I saw two of our dogs, Nala and Dude, at complete peace and just chillin’. It was still good, and a peaceful day was underway as I gave them some love and affection. So, I grabbed my pen and paper and thought about what to write for tomorrow’s post. And just like that, it all flipped. I thought I would write about this and then that, and then this again. I felt a nervous unease and anxiety begin to creep into my day. Not cool, Larry—not cool at all.

So, here we are right now. I’m reflecting on one of my many ideas to share that would keep it simple and allow me to move forward with the task at hand. But even this thought seemed too much under the circumstances, of which there really weren’t any. Then I decided to “Pause and Release.” With that, the peace returned, and the path forward became clear. Through His guidance and counsel, I focused on the Lord, not the circumstance.

FOCUS ON THE LORD, NOT THE CIRCUMSTANCE.

All this mess in my head was self-inflicted because I was trying to rely on my own understanding. Go figure. Rather than getting all scripturey, I will quite simply stress the importance of how we all need to address every obstacle, goal, and moment with the need to focus on the Lord, not the circumstance.

Well, that will do it for today RTG family. Just like that, it’s 7:30 AM in my time zone, and Nala, Dude, and Blue are letting me know that it’s time for them to start their day, too. I’m going to let them out, get them some breakfast, and say, “Thank you, Jesus,” for the gentle reminder to focus on the Lord first, early, often, and always.

In closing, something I like to hold close to is this: Our trials reveal the genuineness of our faith. Just as valuable as our Bible study, prayer, and fellowship are, our faith, hope, and love are just as important.

Until next time,

Much love and be blessable,

Larry
