BELIEVE, RECEIVE & SUBMIT

You know… it’s a funny thing I try to do every day. The funny thing is that there are lots of things I attempt daily, and I am often not sure why I am even trying to do many of them.

However, it all makes sense and becomes crystal clear when I slow down and do all things with God as my focus and my source of guidance for “this day.” (God’s prayer Matt 6:8-13) This article is a prime example, as I had no idea what to focus on or share with you today. Yet here we are, right now. So today, I want to share the simple and powerful need to consciously believe, receive, and submit to God without ceasing. And like anything, the more you do it, the easier it becomes. And with that, you will be able to trust in the moment with His guidance and direction to navigate your day. Eventually, it will become second nature and a craft you can master to help fill each day with everlasting joy rather than momentary happiness.

Let’s break it down and keep it simple. First, we gotta believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit wholeheartedly. Belief is to have confidence in the truth, the existence, and the reliability of God. In other words: faith. A belief and confident attitude towards God with a commitment to His will and trust in His truth. Pretty simple, yes? Yes… if you choose to believe. This leads us right into receive once you believe.

So let’s check out receive. But first, Nala, Dude, and Blue are letting me know they need to go out. They are our three four legged family members. I’ll be right back…

Alright, where were we? That’s right! We are at receive. The easiest way to look at the act of receiving is to accept. And so we must simply and wholeheartedly accept the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit into our lives. He has given us free will and will not force us to do anything. So it is up to each of us to choose God and accept His abundance of unsearchable greatness (Psalms 145:3, KJV). NIV version: “... his greatness no one can fathom.” That’s pretty cool, huh? I think you get the idea.

Once I did this, I grew closer to God as he filled me with peace, hope, love, and joy beyond understanding. This, of course, is just skimming the surface, but it’s not complicated. I’m not saying it’s easy by any means. But it is a gift available for each of us, His children.

Submit is the third leg of the trifecta which is “a run of three wins or grand events.” And what a grand event it can be… if you so choose. So once we believe and choose to receive, we must submit to God. Or, in other words, surrender. Have faith and completely and willfully accept and cease resistance. This one may be a bit scary and overwhelming at first glance. Submit and surrender are, too often, looked at from a mindset of weakness. But when you consider who you are “choosing” to submit to, it’s a courageous choice and a game changer. After all, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1, KJV) Who better to submit and surrender to than the creator, the King of Kings. I personally take great comfort in our God and His plan for my life. He has never let me down since I decided to believe, receive and submit to Him. And before I chose to submit fully, He was always there with mercy and grace while never giving up on “just Larry.”

I hope this bit of writing reaches someone or two and they give it a shot. All I can do is share my experience and relationship with the King of Kings as just Larry, a humble child of God. I hope this touches and perhaps inspires you to believe, receive and submit. This is a guaranteed winner for a joy-filled life prepared to tackle anything today brings your way. I’m not saying it will be easy and without trials and tribulations, but He will be there and deliver whatever you “need” to keep moving forward.

In closing, I want to thank God for all the love & grace He has shown me every day of my life. I would also like to share a cool way to remember grace, which comes in abundance from our God. I learned this acronym in church this morning (2/5/2023). Thanks, Pastor Ed. GRACE: Gods; Riches; At; Christ’s; Expense.

Until next time,

Be blessable and much love,

Larry
