Welcome and much love, RTG family. I’m writing once more on the Tuesday before our Wednesday post. Only this time, it’s 4 PM rather than the traditional 4 AM start time. Long ago, meeting this deadline would be a cause for anxiety and stress. And while I am committed to providing a meaningful message, I’m not going to stress over it. What I am going to do is pray first and let God lead. Well, alright… With my prayer complete and intentions known, let’s see where this time together takes us.
On the immediate front is the 2024 presidential election and our first measurable snow of the season. I personally don’t care much for all the mess political matters can bring, and I’m not a fan of driving to work in the snow. But here we are, and I am thankful for the opportunity to share this particular moment in my life. It may seem inconsequential to many, but in reality, it is a miracle in progress. And God willing, tomorrow will be another miracle when we wake up and receive the gift of another day to do business with God.
The title of this article is the first four words from Philippians 4:6. It is also one of the first scriptures I committed to memory during a difficult time in my work life that was filled with anxiety and uncertainty. I memorized Philippians Ch 4:6-7. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Please read and let these words sink in. Talk about giving me peace and comfort. Can you feel this scripture with me? Can you comprehend what it promises? And by “it,” I mean God’s words. The peace of God that surpasses all understanding… all understanding, will guard and protect your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. He is literally telling us that we are promised peace that surpasses all understanding while protecting our hearts and minds from worldly fear and anxiety. I hope you make this the day to squash the fear and anxiety with scripture and surrender. Go all in earnestly with thankfulness, knowing the darkness will give way to the light. And know that God will always give us what we need now because He will always be that everlasting light shining just for you in this world filled with darkness.
By the way, that work thing I was going through long ago did not work out as planned. But, as time passed, it worked out perfectly and I’m forever thankful for what that closed door allowed to open. Let’s keep moving forward together and remember to stay focused on the Lord, not the circumstance.
Until next time,
Much love and be blessable,
Larry
